2. Packing & Shipping Your Gown

You can expect your initial packaging kit to arrive within one week of placing your order. In the package you'll find aheavy grade shipping box, shipping tape, stain stickers, and a preservation bag. Each component was tested to make sure that your gown arrives safely to our facility. Follow the instructions, adhere the included shipping labels, and we'll take it from there.

Once you've placed your order, your water and crush-resistant shipping container will arrive at your door within 5-7 business days. From here, all you need to do is follow the instructions in the box and send it back!

What's Inside The Shipping Kit?

We know that parting with your beloved dress can be stressful, that's why we've included several safety precautions to guarantee that your dress gets to us and back to you safe and sound.

Your shipping kit will include the following:

  • Reinforced crush-proof and water-resistant corrugated shipping container
  • Waterproof poly shipping bag
  • Commercial grade packaging tape
  • Pre-paid UPS shipping label
  • Order form with all the details of your order
  • Alternative delivery (in case you need your dress returned to another location)
  • Fabric-safe stain stickers to place on areas you feel deserve extra attention

Your shipping kit will include detailed instructions for placing the stain stickers. Additionally, it will include a detailed order form detailing the specifics of your order. This form will include insurance details, order receipt, and a few more, easy to fill out forms.

How to Safely Pack and Send in Your Wedding Dress for Preservation

Mailing your dress can be nerve racking. That's why we've made a step-by-step guide to make sure that your dress makes it safely to our state-of-the-art facility.

Before anything else, it's important to review your order details on the pre-filled order form and make sure all your information is correct.

If you would like to add upgrades, an alternative return address, or alert our team of anything specific, you can do so on the form. If you forgot to add your personalization during the online ordering process, don't worry! You can do that during this phase of the process. Whichever personalization package you choose will be added to your bill or you can opt to include a check in your return package.

Will your shipping container secure my dress efficiently?

Yes. We’ve already shipped more than 3,000,000 wedding dresses, and all of them fitted our shipping container perfectly.

Is it possible to get more shipping insurance after the packages arrive at my place?

Yes! In fact, it's smart to pick up extra shipping insurance right when you're getting your Kit on our website. But if you miss that, the paperwork in your Kit lets you add more insurance later on.

Can you ship my gown/dress to a different address than my Kit’s address?

Sure! You'll find paperwork in there where you can tick off whether you want your gown sent to the same address you used for ordering your Kit, or if you'd prefer to send it elsewhere. (Only valid for addresses in the continental US.)

What can I send in with my gown? Is there any additional cost for other items?

You can add veils, trains, handkerchiefs, tiaras, and more. And, If you want more, it's just $10.00 extra per item. Things like slips, shoes, and silk bouquets that cost a bit more ($35 each). 

If my wedding dress requires extra repair, can you do that?

Yep, there's a checkbox and a spot where you can jot down any extra fixes you think your gown might need, like fixing beads or patching up a tear.

Can you send the paperwork for my gown to an address outside of the US?

Due to the size and weight of the display box, we only ship within the US, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. International customers can still send their dresses for cleaning and preservation but need a US address for return shipping and must handle international shipping themselves.

Do I be notified when my dress reaches your facility?

Absolutely! You get an email to confirm we've got the dress safe and sound. It might take us a couple of weeks from when you send it in to get everything sorted and logged into our system.

Do I need to use my own tape for the shipping container?

 You can.  It's totally fine to use your own shipping tape. Just make sure it's heavy-duty, which is meant for shipping within the country.
